The Macworld Keynote came and went. Steve announced the coolest. thing. ever. Or not. A thin laptop with multitouch, Woo Hoo. Its not gonna change my life. Note:The iPhone might change my life, but I’m not gonna pay $399 to have my life changed and only get 8GB out of the deal.
There was something compelling that came out of the keynote though. Not it wasn’t movie downloads, or iFreakinAwesome, or a new laptop. It was Time Capsule. Or at least one little piece of Time Capsule. What I’m excited about is that Apple has officially sanctioned network Time Machine backups. Now all I need is an HFS+ journaled volume sitting somewhere out there in the cloud, and I can be confident that my MacBook Pro will back up reliably to it.
To quote that gawd awful Honda Commercial, “This. Changes. Everything!”
I guess its time to build a linux server and see if I can get this new HFS+ driver working.
